Every blog needs a blog identity. Hence, before you go on a Facebook posting spree, which might be considered as spamming, you’ll need to consider your blog unique voice and how your blog an help others live better lives — your blog needs to serve a purpose. By doing so, you can speak to you readers as if they were a single, real person, real individuals.
First. Write in a friendly conversational tone. Try as much as possible to use simple language to which everyone can relate and understand.
Avoid using unnecessary jargon, because of the words like “synergy”, “revolutionary” and “proactive drive” will drive your readers away. Unless the audience of that particular post is for specific technical readers.
Consider Charlie King, a PGA golfer and instructor started a blog called the New Rules of Golf, in 2008. On his blog, he shared free tips and explanations using both video and written posts. His friendly tone and welcoming approach make his blog a success among golf-enthuses.
That doesn’t mean you should be afraid to make your post fun or give them personality. In fact, humour and entertainment appeal to everyone.
Example of how this might work
Cisco System, the networking equipment company uses Easter Bunny and Santa Claus singing songs of praise for their testimonial videos. It worked wonders for them.
After finding your blog identity
Once you’ve discovered your blog’s identity, then it’s time to discover your specific audience so that you’ll be able to create content that they’ll able to relate to.
Start by asking questions about potential audience group. How do you describe them? Are they customers or prospect? If you’re selling or promoting something, how do you factor in their experience of the product? How old are them? What’s their profession?
Then, you’ll get your audience avatar! Focus on them.
After Blog Identity, What then?
Then, start generating content that’s related to your audience. If possible, start promoting your blog, either through organic traffic or even paid traffic.
Oh, you probably need to learn about keyword research as well.
