Nope. We can’t play Blu-ray on a DVD player, but we can play DVD on a DVD player or DVD on a Blu-ray player.
Why can we play DVD on a Blu-ray player, but we can’t play Blu-ray on a DVD player？
The Blu-ray disc needs a blue laser to read the information, while a DVD needs a red laser.
The red laser can send a beam of light to read the larger pits printed on DVDs and CDs.
However, DVD players cannot release a blue laser.
