Sweetness of Iman

ACHIEVING THE SWEETNESS OF IMAN (FAITH)

Narrated Anas: Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “Whoever possesses the (following) three qualities will have the sweetness of faith: that Allah and His Apostle become dearer to him than anything else, that he loves a person and he loves him only for the sake of Allah, and that he hates to revert to disbelief as he hates to be thrown into the Fire.”

Lessons:

1. A Muslim will attain the sweetness of faith in life when:

a. Allah and Rasulullah (ﷺ) are dearer to him than anything, including his own self. It is shown by following Allah and Rasulullah (ﷺ)’s commands and leaving what is forbidden.

b. He loves people for the sake of Allah. Having love for family members, spouses, and friends must also be for the sake of Allah.

c. He hates to revert to disbelief as much as he hates to be thrown into the Fire, meaning that he hates forbidden acts and sins.

Let us be compassionate by loving Allah and Rasulullah (ﷺ) more than anything, loving others for the sake of Allah, and hating to disbelieve against Allah.
