This is for me, and also other interested young executives.
The biggest thing that the young executives have to learn in their new positions?
- Learn to speak English (layman term) instead of putting formulas on the blackboard. In my own experience, I had problem explaining simple term to my SGM (Senior General Manager). Theoretically, it’s simple, but putting that theory in layman terms are not. So, communication skills are very important.
- Learn to listen. I’m still struggling with this, but I think I’ve improved significantly over the years.
- Learn the meaning and importance of respect. Still learning on this myself.
Yes, this is not an all inclusive list, but at the moment, it is among the biggest things that young executives (including myself) would do well to learn.
